How Our Support Funds Work
Emergency Fund
Provides short-term emergency support for individuals and families facing sudden financial hardship or difficult life circumstances that threaten everyday stability.
Assistance may help cover essential needs such as utilities, transportation, temporary housing, medical-related expenses, or other urgent situations requiring immediate support.
Emergency assistance is limited to up to $1,000 per request and payments are made directly to the vendor, service provider, or company. Support is provided based on funds raised throughout the year and available program resources.
Families who receive emergency assistance are not eligible to request additional Emergency Fund support for a period of 18 months. Additional eligibility requirements, funding limitations, and review guidelines may apply, including consideration of other assistance currently being received. Submission of a request does not guarantee approval or payment.

Because sometimes people don’t need a handout — they just need a little help to keep going.
This fund is designed for those who may not qualify for traditional assistance but still need a little extra support during a difficult season.
Community Support Fund assistance may include short-term needs, family support, transportation, quality-of-life improvements, community outreach efforts, and other meaningful opportunities that strengthen individuals and families across Collin County.
Support is provided based on available funding, community priorities, and individual circumstances. Assistance amounts and approval timelines may vary depending on current resources and program needs.

Helps remove financial barriers that prevent students from participating in educational, enrichment, extracurricular, and milestone opportunities within Collin County schools, trade schools, and approved educational programs.
This fund supports local children, students, teachers, schools, trade programs, and families by helping create access to experiences that encourage growth, confidence, achievement, and long-term success.
Support may include school supplies, field trips, activity fees, graduation expenses, trade school assistance, student programs, enrichment opportunities, classroom needs, and other education-related support connected to Collin County-based schools or programs.
Requests are reviewed thoughtfully and support is provided as funding allows. Assistance will be paid directly to schools, educational programs, vendors, or service providers whenever possible to ensure responsible stewardship and community impact.

At Boomerang Cares, every request is reviewed thoughtfully with compassion, dignity, and responsible stewardship in mind. We understand that many hardworking people may not qualify for traditional assistance programs but still need a little extra support during difficult seasons. While every situation is unique, we generally prioritize requests that:
Address a genuine short-term hardship or immediate need
Help individuals or families regain stability and keep moving forward
Support educational, enrichment, or opportunity-based experiences for students
Create meaningful impact for individuals, families, schools, or the community
Reflect responsible use of available support and resources
Align with our mission to strengthen and support Collin County families and students
What We May Not Cover
While we wish we could meet every need, funding and program limitations require us to focus support where we can make the greatest impact. Because all assistance is funded through donations and community support, submission of a request does not guarantee approval or payment.
Assistance may not be available for:
Long-term or ongoing financial support
Expenses outside the scope of a specific fund or program
Non-essential luxury, entertainment, or elective purchases
Requests lacking supporting information or documentation when required
Duplicate requests within restricted eligibility timeframes
Situations where other resources or assistance programs may be more appropriate
